DATUM - The Marketplace For Your Data

In this era of globalization and digital with the advancement of information technology, especially the Internet has been a transitional social life from the real world to switch to the virtual world (internet); a lot of activities of daily life tend to be more intensity in the virtual world than the real world. With the presence of various social media, we do not realize that every registration and activity in our virtual world has shared important data and personal information.

Seeing the social conditions as described above, Datum is present to secure all important data by backup the data, not only that even Datum offers for data monetization so that your data can be a commodity that can be traded. The monetization is a basic thing in protecting the users’ data. It is simple, people misuse someone personal data or digital product that they can get for free. It happens all the time, but when they pay for something, then they will use it wisely. Datum is also run on very strict rules. The rules are very strong, but the easy to understand. People avoid something tricky; they want a simple affordable platform with serious protection. Datum understands that.

Datum Usage Rules
Datum provides both computing power and storage capacity (Storage Node) to store network data in a decentralized way. The storage Node allows Datum to provide global data storage. Any entity that wishes to access user data can provide data based on appropriate requirements, either for free or for a fee.

Each data in Datum network is marked with terms of use during encryption, in which case the user (data source) can control the data to be shared and used by others. Usage is controlled by DAT token smart contract. Datum clients empower users to control all their data and share them optionally or sell their data over the Datum network. Datum clients will be available for various platforms such as mobile and desktop, not only that the Datum platform is used on IOT devices, electric cars etc. to unlock the data values of these devices. In the first phase Datum client will be offered as a mobile app for iOS and Android.

The Advantages of Datum
Datum solves a key problem when compared to other storage applications, Datum focuses on data being represented as a key pair and ensures the availability, latency and query capabilities are preserved and incentivized or rewarded.

  1. Safe
All data is encrypted in the app before it is sent to the network.
  2. Private
Data is cleared of personal identification information and patterns.
  3. Distributed
Fast backups and data retrieval via locally close storage nodes.
  4. Simple and easy to use
Simple abstract interface Datum network complexity for everyday users.
  5. Share
Ability to share data with nonprofit entities such as researchers, NGOs and others.
  6. Economical/Sell
Users may choose to selectively sell anonymous data to trusted entities in exchange for a DAT token.

All data encrypted and protected using AES256-GCM that serves as a decentralized data store is not controlled by any party and is secure because it is encrypted on source and unchanged. Not only that, Datum runs as a marketplace to offer and sell data.
